How to have your fast food the healthy way Fast Food

Fast food. Love it or hate it, its here to stay with us. Fast food is a way of life for many people now. They eat it like it is the only food in the world. Fast food is easy and sometimes tasty but it can put a lot of fat (and weight) on you - if you don't know what not to take.

Of course, if you can, avoid it completely. If not, then try to lessen its evil by knowing what to look out for. There are certainly stuffs in those burgers that can literally kill you in the long run. So be smart and read this article for some health tips that can save your life.

Here we will discuss some things you can get at your local fast food joints that are suprisingly healthy.

If you are ordering a burger, lose the mayo and the cheese. You will cut a lot of fat out this way. If it is too dry, use mustard or ketchup instead. This should the trick without piling on the fats.

The cheese that you eat in a burger is the main culprit and it is loaded with oil and other junk. Don't think that cheese is made of only milk. Not all of it is as some of it is made from cooking oil. Actually, you can tell just by looking at it. Cheese that is made from oil will look orangey and oily. By all means, avoid anything with bacon on it. Bacon is another fat loader. Its oily (why does most oily food taste good?) and full of calories you will be happy to avoid.

It is wise to stay away from sand wiches that are deep fried. Deep fried fish or chicken is plain bad for your health. And avoid deep fried chicken or fish burgers that are laced with mayo. They sure look tempting but trust your instincts, they are bad for you.

Another tip is to substitute french fries for a side salad.
Sure, what fun is fast food without fast fries? But you got to get some discipline here and go for the more healthful choice. Like in everything else, east fast food in moderation and you will be ok. But if you are eating so many french fries that you can slick back your hair with the excess oil on your hands, you need to cut down a bit on them.

You could also opt for the healthier "meat less burgers" that some fast food joints are carrying. Although tofu may not taste as nice as meat, but hey, it is a wiser choice for you since most of the time, it contain less fats. Just remember not to add cheese or mayo because these are still harmful even with tofu in the burgers.

You can load up your sandwich with tasty veggies instead of fatty stuff like mayo. I would still suggest that you go with chicken (which contain less harmful fats), though at most of these places you can find turkey as well.

Another way that you can keep the calories low is by drinking water or diet sodas. Add lemon that you can squirt into the water. That will give it a crisp taste that you will love and it will keep your mind off of the sodas.

There you have it. An easy guide to fast food. The next time you go out to the hamburger joint, keep this article in mind.
